Yup, its the name of a film we watched this afternoon. I think the structure of my brain has re-assembled itself just trying to fathom the meaning behind it.

The film consists of a camera panning across america (or so it seems) and is set in the late 60s or early 70s judging by the clothing of the people. Its basically 2 and a half hours of clever camera panning and people. The main message of the film (at least i think) is humanity. How far we've come and how far we may fall. The film starts where it finishes which is the suggestion that humanity will fall. There's alot of references to space and technological development.
I left at break time with a slight headache, but also with some new thoughts about the world and people, how far we've come even since the film was made. I wonder if the makers of the film had predicted something like this, or it was made purely out of curiousity. Maybe they were warning us that if we don't think about the earth, ourselves and our future we may end up where we started,, right at the beginning...
Eurgh, all this thinking is making me tired and rather hungry. Despite all this, the film has made me think about this project though and thats something. I can say one thing, it isn't the kind of film you rush off to the cinema to watch. Only us arty people could possibly 'enjoy' it. If anyone who has watched it and didn't find some sort of meaning behind the whole thing they obviously shouldn't be doing anything creative for a living. Really.
